Dining in Europe with the kids in tow can be a lot of fun, but believe me I have endured my share of small disasters and embarrassing moments along the way. I have caught an antique vase mid-air, held a sleeping child on my left arm while I tackled lobster with my right and I’ve even pulled a 15 cm spaghetti from a two year old’s nose. Despite it all, it has been an adventure I wouldn’t want to have missed. I’ve learned that with a little common sense and a healthy portion of humor it is possible to avoid or extricate myself from most awkward situations.
